Humanities

Curriculum Intent

The Humanities curriculum intends to foster a deep understanding of human cultures, histories, and societies by studying literature, philosophy, history, and the arts. By encouraging critical thinking, empathy, and intellectual curiosity, our curriculum inspires students to explore diverse perspectives, engage with complex global issues, and develop the skills necessary to navigate and contribute thoughtfully to an ever-changing world. Through these disciplines, students will gain a profound appreciation for the richness of human experience and the interconnectedness of global communities.

Pupil Intent

“I will think critically, explore different cultures and histories, and appreciate the world of art, literature, and philosophy. I will develop skills to understand complex ideas, communicate clearly, and reflect on how human experiences shape our world today. By studying a wide range of topics, I will become more curious, empathetic, and ready to make a positive impact in my community and beyond”.
